08/24/2009

Question:

2 years ago, i spiral fractured my tibia, fractured my fibula and my talus. I underwent surgery and i found out i am severely allergic to Morphine, Hydromorphine, Fentanyl, Tramacet, and also the doctors said my body doesn`t break down/Metabolize tylenol(T3). Neiter of my parents are allergic to these drugs. I am only 18 years old and i`m in a study to determine what is wrong, but i do not recive any information until 2012. Any suggestions?

Answer:

In your case, drug allergy has to be distinguished from pharmacological intolerance. This can only be done in centers where this specialized expertise is available. Your physician should be able to guide you further about such sites.
