Blood Spot On Hard Palate08/25/2009 |
I have a blood red spot on my hard palate and what looks like a couple drops of blood on my uvula. I feel absolutely fine otherwise, and would not have noticed except for a feeling like there is something stuck in my throat. I have no history of this and I quit smoking 1 1/2 years ago. I`m really scared.
There are many reasons for red lesions on the hard palate. Most of them are benign and have no serious consequences. However, some can be serious and need to be treated. Go to your dentist and have him/her diagnose the lesion. If they are unsure, get a referral to an oral pathologist or to a surgeon who can biopsy the lesion. The dentist or the dental specialists will need to see you in order to diagnose your lesion.
