Pregnancy and cysts09/08/2009 |
My daughter had a baby Feb/08 by C-section, she was told at the time she had a cyst but not to worry. She has now been trying to get pregnant for 3 months (has not used any birth control prior- like pill etc.) and has not succeded so far. She is worried if the cyst or scar tissue from the C- section may be the reason.
Ovarian cysts are very common findings at Cesarean section. The majority are in response to hormonal surges of pregnancy. Scarring can occur from a prior C-sections but it is an uncommon cause of infertility.
It can take a normal couple up to 1 year to conceive. Therefore I would not be concerned if they have not been able to get pregnant in three months.
