Lung nodules09/14/2009 |
Hi,I have an adrenal cyst that has increased from a 3.2 cm in 2007 to 4.8 today.. 3 mths ago lung nodules were seen for the first time..ct revealed largest to be 5 mm. Could this be related? What causes the nodules to develop?
There are many causes for pulmonary nodules, including but not limited to: infection, inflammation, scarring, or cancer. It is impossible at this point to determine if these newly discovered nodules are related to the abnormality in your adrenal gland, and at 5 mm they are really too small to evaluate at this time. For now, careful follow-up of these nodules is most appropriate, with plans to further evaluate if they increase in size.
