Bartholyn gland removal09/29/2009 |
I had a bartholyns gland removed a year and a half ago i am still having symptoms of a cyst in the area my doctor says there is no way the gland could grow back or that i can be getting cysts down there is this true? they claim it is tissue irritation and keep putting me on antibiotics.
Both can be true. When attempting to remove the gland, sometimes not all of the gland is removed. The remaining fragments can grow and reform the cyst. It is also true that the area around the cyst that is left behind after removal can become scarred and feel firm like a cyst. The only way to know is with careful examination. A true cyst would feel cyst-like and might fluctuate in size. The scar tissue wouldn't.
