Question:

Can I take gabapentin with dicloflex and dihydrocodeine and amitriptyline and paracetamol all in one day?

Answer:

There are some potential interactions between these five medications, but they can usually be managed by observation.

Gabapentin, dihydrocodeine, and amitriptyline are in different classes of medication, but all have CNS depressive effects. Taking more than one medication causing CNS depression can have an additive effect. If you are experiencing excessive drowsiness, dizziness, weakness, or difficulty breathing, you should contact your doctor to discuss changing medications or doses.

It is also a good idea to avoid alcohol while taking these medications since alcohol can worsen CNS depression.

You should also be aware that dihydrocodeine is often used in combination products containing acetaminophen. It is important to check for all active ingredients in combination products. Total acetaminophen intake from all products (combinations, paracetamol, etc.) should not exceed 4g (4000mg) in 24 hours.
