Flu shots09/21/2009 |
Should someone with diabetes get both flu shots..the standard one(from last year), and the H1N1 when it becomes available?
People with diabetes in general would be on a standard list of higher risk groups that would be a priority to get flu vaccinations. There is a list of reasons why any given individual should not get a flu vaccination (including such factors as a history of allergy to eggs in which the vaccine is prepared or a previous bad reaction to flu vaccine). There could be other factors to be taken into account as to whether a particular person should be vaccinated as well.
