Ground glass of the lung11/02/2009 |
my husband had a chest xray. it showed ground glass six months later he had another chest xray and it was cleared up. No one gave us a direct answer what ground glass was. he also has a thorasic aorta aneurysm during the ground glass problem it grew a centimeter. do you have any comments on the above.
Ground glass infiltrates are usually caused by inflammation or fluid in the lung. They can be seen in many conditions including reversible conditions such as pneumonia, heart failure, and drug reactions. Ground glass infiltrates can also be seen with interstitial lung disease but this would be less likely if the infiltrates resolved on their own.
