Extreme Pain Behind Bottom Front Teeth11/04/2009 |
When I run I often have an extreme pain that is present behind my bottom front teeth in the gum. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth at the same time. This has been happening since I was a child. I am now 47. What is happening...my dentists have thought I was nuts but it is a concern of mine.
Without examining your mouth, it would be impossible to say exactly what this is. Your problem sounds neurosensory and could be related to the submandibular gland, but this is just conjectural. If you are concerned, you should make an appointment to see an oral pathologist for evaluation. For you, the best news is that while unusual, your pain doesn't seem to be a serious or a progressive problem.
