Small Translucent, Bluish Area on Tongue11/06/2009 |
Thanks in advance for answering my question. On the top of my tongue, on the right side, where the tongue starts to turn downward, I have a small (about half centimeter) somewhat raised area that is bluish, translucent, and blanches when pushed down on. Seems to fill up again after a few seconds. Beside it (and on the far right side of my tongue) there is what appears to be a smaller (1 mm) blood blister. I noticed this about a year ago (probably longer) but don`t know if it comes and goes or has always been there. I don`t think it has changed since I first saw it.
Any idea what this could be?
Thank you for visiting NetWellness. This sounds as if you may have a varix or other benign vascular anomaly. Please check the link below for additional information.
