BUN/Creatinine Ratio11/16/2009 |
As a 41 year old african american male. I want to know if my levels of creatine are cause for concern. My BUN is 16, Creatinine is 1.46 and my BUN/CR ratio is 11.0. Thanks.
Your calculated GFR is 70cc/min which means that you have about 70% of renal function. However, I don't know the circumstances of the test. If this is your first creatinine test then it should be repeated. You should review it with your doctor to determine if; 1) this is reversible, and if not 2) what is causing this abnormal test and what can be done to prevent it from getting worse.Also note that there is a lot of variation in creatinine interpretation (GFR) at this level and the 70% that I quoted may be inaccurate.
