Lung Cancer, Hip Cancer

11/18/2009

Question:

I have lung cancer. I went back to my doctor as I was in bad pain with my hip. Now my doctor has told me I have cancer in my hip. On Friday I`m having another full body scan done. I can`t find information on hip cancer. Can you help? I`m on liquid morphine, morphine patches, panadol osteo pain killers. I also am last stage of emphysema. I`m 49 yrs old.

Answer:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry to hear of this new finding. It is important to discuss with your physician whether this represents a new cancer or is related to your lung cancer. In addition, given your symptoms of hip pain you should also discuss options for local treatment.
