Maximum Dose of Aspirin
12/22/2009 |
Question:
Dear expert,
I have a question with regard to maximum dose of Asprine. In most package inserts of the medicine, only the statement about the dose each time and the frequency of taking medicine is mentioned but total daily maximum dose is omitted as opposed to Acetaminophen.
Answer:
The maximum recommended daily dose of aspirin should generally not exceed 4gm per day. If you find that you are using doses close to 4grams/day, you should probably check with your physician to see if there is something better. High doses of NSAIDs and especially aspirin can lead to problems with stomach ulcers.
