Elongated uvula01/05/2010 |
My husband recently had hernia surgery, his uvula is now very elongated and at times rests on the back of his tongue, is this normal and will it go back to its normal size.
The uvula can be irritated by the endotracheal tube used to breath for you during surgery. This swelling should resolve in a week or two. If not, a short course of oral steroids would help.
