Gum Shedding01/19/2010 |
I think my gums were shedding. A few days back, I noticed I was able to peel off a thin layer of my gums(there was no oozing). I am only 26, why is this happening? Could this be due to something unrelated to my teeth?
If this is a one-time event, do not worry. It may be related to trauma from a toothbrush etc. Sometimes it may be related to some autoimmune skin diseases. Thus, if it comes and goes, you need to see a periodontist.
