Question:

Can methylprednisolone 4 mg. be taken at the same time with naproxen 500 mg.?

Answer:

Both of these medications may be taken together; however, you should make sure that your prescribing physician wants you to take both.

Methylprednisolone is a steroid drug used for inflammation, and naproxen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication. Both can be used for the same things. If your physician does want you to take both, you should take them with food as they can both cause some stomach discomfort.

If you are taking both together for an extended period of time, you should discuss the risk of stomach and intestinal ulcers with your physician, as they can prescribe or recommend medication to protect your stomach.
