Birth Control and Thyroid03/09/2010 |
If on birth control for more than a year and begin thyroid therapy, can this can irregular or breakthough bleeding? I am currently on Seasonique and levothyroxine 75.
Starting levothyroxine will not affect the efficacy of Seasonique. However, continuous oral contraceptives such as Seasonique are associaiated with more breakthrough bleeding and spotting than the cyclic pills.
