Chronic Gastritis

03/29/2010

Question:

I have had gastritis for almost 2 years now; unreleived by medications including Prilosec and Nexium. I had an endoscopy last year and h. pylori was ruled out (doc also did a blood test to be sure). Doc said there was “irritation” of stomach and duoduem. The pain is gnawing in upper stomach. I cannot identify foods that trigger, but on days it is worse it is affected by food like red meats. Some days it goes away compeltely. I asked the gi doc about autoimmunie disease because I have Hasimoto`s thrioiditis; but he shrugged this off. I drink very little alcohol and take no meds except Synthroid. Please offer any advice. Thanks.
