Lung Calcification05/03/2010 |
I am 30 year old mother of two kids. I have healed calcification deposits in my lungs what doctors say are due to exposure to TB infection. The TB is inactive but I want to treat this. Will the treatment also remove calcium scars or they will keep reflecting in chest X-ray? Thanks.
They will always be there. TB should only be presumed based on PPD skin testing. Calcifications in the lung, in Ohio, are much more likely to be remote Histoplasmosis infection which is nearly universal in Ohio residents and does not require treatment.
