Tumor-like Outgrowth

05/10/2010

Question:

There is a tumor like outgrowth in between my breasts. My physician said it is not a cancerous tumor, but even he is not able to find out the reason behind that. Can you please help me?

Answer:

If you are not comfortable with your physician’s response you may wish to seek a second opinion. You may want to visit a dermatologist. There are many benign growths on the skin and unfortunately we do not know what causes many of them. However, a skin biopsy may be needed (or not) depending on the dermatologsist’s diagnosis.
