Asplenic Patient/Pulmonary Hypertension07/05/2010 |
I am an asplenic patient and maybe at risk for Pulmonary Hypertension. Is it important to have a lipid panel? Should my cholesterol levels be of special concern because of my lack of a spleen. The Spleen was surgically removed because of a inflammatory sutotumor tumor.
There is no association between the cholesterol level and development of pulmonary hypertension. Your lipid panel should be checked as per the recommendation of your primary care physician.
