Student Wants Help05/20/2010 |
if a student wanted help, what would be the reprecussions. What is policy on student getting help durring quarter?
When a student seeks help for chemical dependency, this is part of their medical history and the information is confidential and protected by the Health Care Privacy Act. For instance, patients who seek treatment at Talbot hall receive a letter stating that they were hospitalized at The Ohio State University Hospitals East for a specific period of time. This document does not disclose any specific information about the illness or treatment. The document can be submitted to your professor to explain a period of the abstinence from class for medical treatment.
Each school or college will have a specific policy regarding absences that are related to hospitalization and the opportunity the student has to complete the academic work missed during medical care.
Best wishes.
