Torn Iris06/04/2010 |
About 12 years ago, I had a blunt trauma to my right eye that left a partially torn iris. The pupil still dilates with changing light, but not synchronously with the left eye, which leads to eye soreness. Is there a surgical option to repair the torn iris?
There is no surgical option for a partially torn iris, but there are tinted cosmetic contact lenses that can mask the traumatized area. There are even cosmetic contact lenses that have color-matched irises and a round (but fixed) pupillary area for very severe cases of iris trauma.
Ask your eye doctor about one or both of these options.
