Question:

My urine smell like Parmesan cheese and also of something else that I cannot identify. I mentioned it to a Urologist I was seeing for frequent urination and he did not seem to be concerned, I was wondering if this could be and indication of a more serious problem and/or an infection. I an 67 years of age. Thank You

Answer:

The smell of the urine can be due to a multitude of factors. The smell can be from an infection or it can be a result of medication taken or specific food eaten. The only way to tell if there is bacteria in the urine is for the urine to be checked by your physician.
