Laser Fissurectomy

06/28/2010

Question:

I am 30 year old gay man, I recently had a laser fissurectomy for a chronic that i`ve been dealing with. My proctologist conducted the procedure without the Sphinterotomy as he told me that I didn`t need it. In any event, I was just wondering how long before the wound heals completely. 3 weeks later and its 80% healed, there is still some pain during defecation, but manageable. Also, when can I resume exercising and intercourse?

Answer:

You will have pain until the wound is completely healed. I would recommend against anal receptive intercourse until you visit your doctor for a post-op check, after an exam and a frank discussion with your surgeon.
