20 mg Omeprazole x 2/Day?06/16/2010 |
I am a 62 year female whose prescription has gone from 20 mg/day (most effect ive for me in the AM) to 20 mg in AM and PM and I am feeling more comfortable but am wondering if that is the best dosage, What is recommended?
The recommended dose of omeprazole depends on the formulation being used as well as the illness being treated. Omeprazole comes in a delayed release capsule as well as an over-the-counter delayed release tablet, a powder for suspension and a regular capsule. The delayed release capsule is often taken once daily in the morning before a meal. For treatment of stomach ulcers or conditions where the stomach makes too much acid, omeprazole is dosed twice daily.

Please check with your own doctor regarding the recent change in your dose if you still have questions.
