Possible Lung Cancer?
Hi, My 38 yr old brother has been coughing up blood, has hoarseness, has drenching night sweats literally every other night, and is always extremely tired (for about a year).
They did a regular scope and found no problems in his esophogus and then sent him to a pulmonary specialist. They did a CT scan on him and found a ~5mm noncalcified nodule in her lower lobe. And his lymph nodes/glands around his chest are large and getting larger - 1.9cm and are now about 2.5cm.
Could this possibly be lung cancer?
His doctor is on vacation, so he won`t be able to discuss the CT scan for 3 wks.
My mom and dad both died of cancer at young ages. Thanks for your time.
The 5mm nodule is unlikely to be lung cancer because of its small size. The lymph nodes may be enlarged from cancer or infection. He should definately follow up with the pulmonary physician.
I hope this helps.
