Blurry Vison After the Flap Went Out of Place
I had Lasik a week ago and the flap in my left eye went out of place. My Dr. put it back in place the next day. He doesn`t seemed concerned and said the left eye would catch up to the right eye, which is almost 20/20 now. It`s been a week and my vision in the left eye is still a bit blurry. How long does that typically last and when should I be concerned that it is permanent?
Thank you for two very good questions.
But since everyone's cornea heals differently, I cannot predict when the flap in your left eye will be 100% functional.
It is not unusual to need eyedrops (steroids, wetting drops, antibiotics, etc.) 4-6 weeks after LASIK surgery.
Ask your LASIK surgeon, who knows:
(1) the exact corneal procedure performed and
(2) the difficulty he had in re-positioning the de-centered flap, and
(3) the serial visual acuities recorded pre- and post-surgery
about the expected healing time for your left eye.
