High microalbumin, urine08/26/2010 |
I am a non-insulin dependent diabetic. MY last BP was 123/69 and my fasting glucose is averaging 120. An A1C last week was 6.6. But my microalbumin was 72.4 at that time. Is a major "right now" concern? I have also been treated for prostate cancer 4 yrs ago, but I wouldn`t think there would be any connection
The microalbuminuria test should be confirmed by repeating it twice over the next 3 to 6 months. If it persists then it may be a marker of renal involvement with diabetes/hypertension. Also make sure that you are not taking any renal toxic meds. Also would advise renal function blood test (serum creatinine).
