What is adult mcd and what is the treatment/prognosis?
If MCD means Minimal Change Disease then this question is appropriate for Nephrology. Treatment: Significant proportion of patients respond well to Steroids. A minority of patients may not respond to steroids and they are called as Steroid resistant. These patients may need other immunosuppressive medications like Cyclosporine. In addition they are all on conventional antiproteinuric measures like- low salt diet, ACE-I/ARB, lipid control. It is also important to rule out any secondary etiologies for MCD.
