Bladder Not Functioning12/08/2010 |
My husband recently went through radiation therapy for 42 days for prostate cancer. His bladder stopped functioning before treatments started and is still not functioning. He has some symptoms of Parkinson`s Disease; will this disease cause your bladder to become enlarged and stop working?
It is difficult to say why your husband is not urinating. This may be from the enlarged prostate blocking the water channel. Sometimes there may be some initial swelling of the prostate with radiation making it harder to urinate. The bladder may not squeeze hard enough to empty. In addition the Parkinsons Disease can effect both the bladder and the outlet. I would suggest that you discuss this with your Urologist who can be more specific with you.
