Eye and Vision Care
does drinking about 20 ozs. of water within 15 minutes during breakfast raise eye pressure. I have controlled eye pressue with Lumigan drops.
Drinking large amounts of water in a short amount of time has been shown to increase the pressure in the eye. Also, some doctors speculate that these short term increases in eye pressure can adversely affect glaucoma. Because of this, a good "rule of thumb" is to limit drinking to 8 ounces of fluid in a twenty minute period. However, most people would agree that drinking more is ok if you are dehydrated, such as during and following exercise.
Of course recommendations will vary based on your specific situation, so your doctors can provide you with the best guidelines for you to follow.
