I’ve Been Bleeding during Sex but not After.12/29/2010 |
Recently when me and my fiance have been having sex..I`ve been bleeding during it but not afterwards..its not a ton but enough..and it will happen sometimes but not always and just in the past week...what could it be?
Bleeding seen during or after intercourse is not normal, but it may commonly occur for a few reasons. It may be traumatic, such as when there is a tear or scrape of the vagina during penetration. It may be due to an infection that inflames the vaginal or cervical tissue. Or it may be due to an abnormal growth on the cervix, like a polyp or dysplasia (abnormal cells) that bleeds easily when touched.
A vaginal exam by a clinician should be able to see where the bleeding is coming from and whether some treatment (for example, antibiotics for an infection) can resolve the problem.
