Pus in My Mouth?01/11/2011 |
When I sleep at night a thick and malodorous accumulation form in my mouth. It resembles pus and seems to be mixed with blood; it gets on my pillows. What is wrong and how do I treat it?
Severe periodontitis (gum disease) could cause the problem that you are describing, so you should be seen by a dentist for a complete oral examination. If the dentist does not find significant gum disease, he or she should consider referring you to an oral pathologist for further evaluation. Without doing an examination, it is impossible to say what is causing your problem.
