Lateral Meniscus Tear

02/17/2011

Question:

I have a lateral meniscus tear in my left knee. I use to run and do cardio, what types of exercise can I do? I am waiting for my surgery to be scheduled.

Answer:

This question would appropriately be directed to your physician, who has presumably determined your meniscus tear is the cause for whatever knee symptoms you are experiencing.

In general, symptoms can be used to guide positions and activities, paying particular attention to avoiding "mechanical" knee symptoms of buckling/giving-way, locking, or swelling.

For further information, using the search term "meniscus tear" on this website will currently provide 88 results, and using "meniscus" provides 141.
