Crospovidone02/08/2011 |
I bought OTC potassium Gluconate containing crospovidone because I am going to do a colon prep for a colonoscopy. I am fearful of losing too much potassium in the process. Is it safe to take this product containing crospovidone. I am concerned about its ability to swell. An answer asap would be appreciated. Thank you.
Thank you for contacting Net Wellness. Crospovidone (polyvinylpyrolidone) is used as an inactive ingredient in many pharmaceutical products to help break down the product. You may want to check with your physician regarding your bowl preparation as potassium gluconate is not a typical medication used as a bowl preparation before colonoscopy.
