Focal Irregular Opacity02/17/2011 |
My chest xray shows a focal irregular opacity measuring approximately 2.5 cm in the right perihilar region. A CT scan is recommended. What is this and what might it indicate?www.netwellness.org/question.cfm/77161.htmÂ
What that means is that there is a possible spot on the lung which could be a local infection, a benign spot or possibly cancer. Many shadows seen on CXR turn out to be nothing on CT.
I hope this helps.
