100% Blocked Vein03/15/2011 |
I have had 2 DVT`s in my left leg and I also have Lupus SLE and antiphospholipid antibodies. Have had a leg ulcer for 3 years on left let that keeps recurring in same place so sent for venogram as said possibly have May Thurner`s syndrome. They were supposed to also put in a stent but I was told the vein (the one coming down from my heart into my left leg) is 100% blocked so they cannot remove blockage or put in stent. Why can they not remove blockage as seems contradictory to information I have seen on the internet so far?
Sometimes an occluded vein can be recanalized and stented but it depends on the extent. Perhaps a second opinion would be in order.
