Fibrosis with Granuloma Formation

I was diagnosed to have a PTB. I was under medication for 6 months. Then I had an X-Ray exam again. The impression is fibrosis with granuloma formation,left, considered. What does it mean?

Answer:

I presume that PTB stands for pulmonary tuberculosis. For uncomplicated cases, this is typically treated for 6 months with antibiotics. Tuberculosis can cause lasting scars called fibrosis. Sometimes these scars can form in rounded structures in the lung that are called granulomas. 

However, interpretation of x-rays is always best done by a radiologist or physician involved in an individual's care. So, it is best to discuss these findings with your regular physician and find out if he/she believes that this is a scar from treated tuberculosis or if it is a different process.
