Platysma

05/12/2011

Question:

Is there an oral condition referred to as "platysma"? Thank you.

Answer:

The platysma is a facial muscle. The muscle draws the lower lip and corner of the mouth sideways and down, partially opening the mouth, sometimes in an expression of surprise, fright, or even a frown.
