Sinus

10/28/2011

Question:

I had a CT of my Sinus. The dr who ready the scan had to get a second opinion from the director of neuroradiology. The report findings is as follows: There is irregular thickening of the basal mural aspect of the left maxillary sinus unassociated with mucous membrane thickening, fluid or bony destruction. The findings are minimal and most likely relate to a benign fibro-osseous process such as locialized fibrous dysplasia. Another possibility would be postinflammatory mucoperiostits although the lack of associated musous membrane thickening mitigates somewhat against this diagnosis. Not thought to relate to a dental abnormality. Can you explain what this means.
