Stinky feet smell in my nose

04/16/1999

Question:

I have a smell inside my nose several times a day, that smells like either stinky feet or bathroom odor. I am nowhere near either. What could be causing this? I also have had a rhinoplasty/otoplasty and used saline nasal spray as directed for a couple weeks. Did this contribute to it?

Answer:

Someone should carefully examine the inside of your nose. Depending on the type of rhinoplasty you had, there could be some chronic infection, or even extrusion of grafting material (if used by your surgeon). Bad smells generally mean some type of infection.
