Is there another method of making impressions for a crown other than using a full mouth size "tray" that holds a putty like substance?
The answer in brief is yes - using a partial tray instead of a full mouth tray. However, an impression using the full mouth tray may still be necessary to establish the proper occluding relationship (how the teeth come together).
