Use of Welbutrin during pregnancy (07/23/2007 01:24PM) |
| My daughter`s OB/GYN has suggested the use of Wellbutrin to help her stop smoking during her pregnancy. On top of that, women who smoke during pregnancy are very likely to continue to smoke after pregnancy. But that is not as much an endorsement of Welbutrin during pregnancy as it is an abhorrence of smoking while pregnant. | |

Mood Swings (05/31/1997 12:33AM) |
| Since the first few days of being a non-smoker, I have been experiencing severe mood swings that I can barely control. I am a 28-year old female and I do not usually have any major symptoms of P.M.S. or other female problems, however, the mood swings that I am experiencing started just before my menstruation cycle began, but I am still enduring them two weeks later. Medical conditions, especially endocrine imbalances can also cause mood swings. | |

| Any help on finding this reasearch would be appreciated Since it is not possible to know the smoking status and diseases of each of the millions of persons living in the United States, there are scientists who study groups of people to derive estimates of smoking attributable deaths. The 1989 Surgeon General`s Report, Reducing the Health Consequences of Smoking: 25 years of Progress includes a chapter on the changes in smoking-attributable mortality (deaths) in a 20 year period. Nicotine patch use for pregnant women (03/27/2001 11:28AM) |
| Is the nicotine patch OK to use if you are pregnant. Pregnant women actually metabolize or process nicotine about twice as fast as a nonpregnant woman, so it is removed more quickly. The benefit of using nicotine patches in second and third trimesters needs to be considered against the risk of continuing to smoke and expose the baby to carbon monoxide and other substances. | |

Is this a possible side-effect of smoking? (02/26/2008 02:57PM) |
| I went to a party and had about 8 shots of vodka in about an hour, but then ate and drank about 24 oz of a water/powerade mix over the next few hours. After about an hour of sitting on the floor and attempting to sip water, the symptoms passed, with the minor exception of the nausea which, in addition to the spins, lasted through the next day. Eight shots of vodka in an hour for a 116 lb. woman, and you wonder if it was the tobacco? |
