What causes missed abortions as opposed to spontaneous abortions? I read that having a missed abortion as opposed to a spontaneous abortion means that I am more likely to miscarry again - is this true? A missed abortion is when a non-viable pregnancy is found on ultrasound and there are no there clinical signs of miscarriage (such as bleeding).

My 18 year old daughter had an abortion in September of 2003, and, now she is pregnant again and wanting to get another abortion. Technically speaking there is no time frame that is too close to have an abortion. There is no evidence that uncomplicated abortion procedures have any risk to the mother or future childbearing.

My period came the next month on the 27th cycle day lasting for 3dys as normal. Every month different cycle days and also in the month of February 2008 i had two menstrual cycles one that was ending from January and went two days into February. Now the problem comes bc i had a menstrual period earlier this month and possibly another at the end of this month if it comes btwn 21-27 of my menstrual cycle, and i know two cyles is not normal.

thanks There are a variety of causes of missed abortion. Sometimes missed abortions are dues to insufficient progesterone production by the placenta or, rarely, certain medical conditions.

Are the number of abortions per year on the rise? If so are there records of how many abortions are due to rape? The number of abortions in the US have decreased slightly over the last two years.There really is no good data about how many are performed because of rape.
