I had a normal pap, normal urine, normal pelvic ultrasound. Thank you

This question has been forwarded by Women's Health:

Women who have lack of enough estrogen in their vaginal canal may experience some of your symptoms. If you have no other symptoms, like frequent urination and severe pain in the bladder area, you may want to alert your urologist or gynecologist of this condition.

Frequent Urge To Urinate (04/17/2006 10:06AM)
I am a 31 yr old female and for the past 2 weeks I have felt an almost constant urge to urinate. My doctor has ruled out a UTI, both urine dip and culture came back negative. I have had female patients with irritable symptoms as you describe and who I have place on a short course of antibiotics even though the urine culture has been negative.

The same muscle tissue is present at the opening of the bladder in women and occassionally flomax is used to try to relax these muscles to improve urination.

What does `prominent extra-renal pelvis` mean (10/23/2007 12:03PM)
I`ve had a blood test (which was ok) and an ultra sound that noted I had a prominent extra-renal pelvis at the right kidney. Hemorrhagic cystitis or so called infection of the bladder with blood in urine is a common manifestation of lower tract infection in sexually active female.

Extra renal renal pelvis on the other hand is a normal variant of the drainage system of the kidney.
