Fitness query (05/05/2003 02:17PM) |
| In my previous question some facts were missing.let me add that too with the whole question again A 30 year old woman with 5ft7"and 62kg could run after a 13 year old boy with 4ft10"and 34 kg and catch him in 6-7 mins running in a straight line. They ran about 1km and the woman started from a distance of 20 meters behind the boy.But we expect the boy who is light in weight to run faster being more flexible. Why could the woman catch the boy despite the boy having no health issues. The ... | |

Fitness (04/09/2003 04:44PM) |
| A 30 year old woman with 63kg and 5ft7"could run after 13 year old boy of 4ft11"and 35kg and catch him in 5 minutes time(running in straight line). My doubt is being heavier than the boy,how could the woman run faster.the woman had no training in athletics and boy had no health issues.what is the inference if instead of 5 minutes the women had caught the boy in about only 10 minutes? However, the woman does have twice the stride length as the boy due to her height. | |

Embarrassing (08/24/2004 10:56AM) |
| I would like to have a female physician as my primary care doctor because I think they listen better and are more thorough. My question: Is this a common occurance when males are being examined by a female doctor? I suspect this may be a common occurrence, however, speaking directly with your personal physician may resolve your concerns. | |

Heart rate (02/28/2005 12:28PM) |
| The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) guidelines for pregnant exercisers recommends the maternal heart rate not exceed 140bpm (beats per minute). According to ACOG, women who were fit before pregnancy can safely maintain their level of fitness throughout pregnancy by exercising moderately. I would advise you to check with your obstetrician for their recommendation about heart rate guidelines during your pregnancy. | |

Love handles (06/25/2007 09:30AM) |
| I am a 23 y/o female and I am having a problem with "love handles". Strength training exercises will maintain or even increase muscle mass, and since muscle weighs more than fat, your total body weight will be maintained. It is recommended to perform a minimum of 8-10 separate exercises that train the major muscle groups, 2-3 days a week (alternating days). | |
