I read the article about abnormal menstrual bleeding, but my question is related to abnormal bleeding and stress. Can stress cause changes in the menstrual cycle? The bleeding you are describing is called “spotting” and is usually due to some hormonal changes, which can be due to stress.

Hormonal control with both estrogen/progesterone (birth control)will regulate the hormones and improve the bleeding. The depo provera causes ovulation to stop, which causes a disruption in normal hormonal changes.

I had the Essure Procedure done in Sept of 2006, since then I have had ocassional spotting between periods. I had a normal period in Dec. and about 18 days after my period I started spotting. You mention that your periods have been abnormal since you had the Essure procedure performed.

Last month I started taking the birth control pill loestrin 24. I took the first month of pills and now I should be starting my period, but instead I have slimy brown discharge. Is the abnormal "period" due to the birth control or the biopsy?
The bleeding you experience on oral contraceptives is different than a normal menstrual cycle.

hi iam 27 year old and now have amenorrhra for 3 months and 1 half year back i have a test of FSH and LH which say they are under normal limits at that time i have normal healthy weight and then i year back i got marrried and have started weight gain i have gain almost 15 kgs b/c i was eating alot of fatty food .
There are a number of possible causes for irregular periods:

pregnancy

abnormal hormone level

infection

rapid weight gain
