In women, the symptoms of gonorrhea are often mild, but most women who are infected have no symptoms. The initial symptoms and signs in women include a painful or burning sensation when urinating, increased vaginal discharge, or vaginal bleeding between periods. Some women have signs or symptoms of infection which include a frothy, yellow-green vaginal discharge with a strong odor.

I`m trying to find out how much vaginal discharge is normal. However, women can have normal vaginal discharge of 1-4mL of fluid every 24 hours; this normal discharge is white or transparent, thick and odorless. It is unclear if cervical erosions will worsen vaginal discharge.

Vaginal discharge and odor (03/20/2008 12:33PM)
A normal or physiologic vaginal discharge can be noticed at midcycle, or two weeks after the start date of your last menstrual period. As you get closer to the start date of your period, this discharge can become brown, typically 1-2 days before the start of menses.

A prolonged brown discharge (more than 3 days) is usually an indication that there is vaginal bleeding present.

I have been experiencing vaginal discharge during bowel movements for a few years since my daughter was born. Your Pap test was normal, there's no smell, if there's no pain on intercourse - this vaginal discharge is just normal body function.

`Normal` vaginal discharge (02/25/2008 03:33PM)
I am a 26 year old woman who has daily vaginal discharge. As of recently, the "unsexiness" of wearing a panty liner all of the time has begun to affect my sex life with my boyfriend. I hope your Pap smear testing is up to date including possible infection causing women to have increase vaginal discharge.

Unusual vaginal discharge (04/28/2008 12:10PM)
It is difficult to know the cause of a vaginal discharge based strictly on appearance.  Normal vaginal discharge can take on different appearances due to hormonal changes or due to the presence of male ejaculate following intercourse.  Discharge is more likely to be abnormal, or due to an infection, if it is accompanied by itching, burning, irritation, or an unpleasant odor.
