Dr. Barry Effron is Associate Chief, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Case Medical Center (UHCMC). Dr. Effron is Associate Professor, Figgie Family Clinical Professor for Cardiovascular Excellence at CWRU. He directs the Evaluation & Prevention Center at UHCMC. |
Dr. Effron received his MD from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. Dr. Effron went on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine at University Hospital in Columbus, OH. This was followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease at University Hospitals of Cleveland and Cardiovascular Disease Research at University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, WI.
Dr. Effron is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Effron serves on several hospital committees and national advisory boards. His special interests include Cardiomyopathy, Clinical Cardiology, Coronary Artery Disease, Management of Lipid Disorders, Preventive Cardiology, and Valvular Heart Disease.
